A National Football Championship For Michigan

Not Your Rose Bowl Team

The University of Michigan is going to the Rose Bowl -- they are NOT playing for a mythical National Championship. Division I / BCS is all screwed up with the Bowl games anyway. Don't get me started on the notion that the New Year's Day classics get spread out until, what, January 8th this year?

No, we're talking about the "annual" trip by the Grand Valley State University Lakers to the Division II National Championship game in Florence AL tomorrow, Saturday 16 December 2006. It's a repeat of last year's National Championship between #1 GVSU and #2 Northwest Missouri State University.

Watch live as the title is decided on December 16, at noon ET on ESPN2.

GVSU is undefeated this season, last season -- and I think I heard their last 100 games are like 87-13. This is quite a Division II run. Congratulations!

Go Lakers!
