More On GVSU's LipDub Video

More Of The Story

In response to yesterday's LJ post about GVSU's LipDub video, there is a nice article that will show up in today's Grand Rapids Press which came via my email preview. It gives a lot of detail about the shoot, including that they took ten takes, they used Take #7, and ran over Louie the Laker in Take #1.

OMG - What The Hell is WRONG With People?

Of course if you look at the online Grand Rapids Press article, you may end up scrolling down to the comments. Some of them may get deleted by the time you look, but here is this nice story of a campus activity that drew in over 600 students and many student organizations, on a lovely day, which can only help the image and recruitment at a fine state university -- and trolls come out about...?

Another reason to eliminate public funding of higher education. Another reason to remove the sale of alcohol from this sick society. When will people learn how damaging to education public funds and alcohol are?

WMTP - telling it like it should be told and exposing the liberals and moderates since 2008

and this lovely exchange:

As a strong conservative student at GVSU, I am proud to say that I took part in this. I appreciate those that worked so hard on that and for the invitation to all to be a part of it. It was one afternoon of absolutely beautiful weather and I was enjoying it and conversing with others I met in the logo at the end.

Maybe it was just a part of "sucking the marrow out of life" from Dead Poet's Society; but it was fun and did not harm my studies or my mind at all.

You have revealed your liberal side, sir. Do not besmirch the word conservative through such antics or so transparent a claim.

WMTP - calling out the moderates since 2008

Now I'm not going to sit here and pass judgment on either a troll or those feeding a troll, so I'm not going to say that this troll represents ALL of the people in the West Michigan Tea Party -- or even IS a member of WMTP. But increasingly I see whack-a-loons trying to derail every attempt to have a nice dialogue or trying to piss on what anyone else would think is a nice community achievement.

Guess what Mr. Troll? The current Michigan legislature has just cut the budgets of the state's universities... again. You're getting what you want -- increasingly your tax dollars are NOT going to fund the state universities. They are increasingly becoming Pay-As-You-Go student funded and privately funded charity institutions, and this at a time when everyone is screaming to bring jobs and industry into Michigan and hope that our youth don't move out.

And what does this video and all the hard work the students put into it have to do with alcohol? Methinks your hold in reality is far too weak and you should be cut off from the bottle.

Sure, I work at a state university, as does Mrs. Dr. Phil. But I see these comments showing up all over -- heaven help us if the article has anything to do with gays.

And then there are the spammers, who also put in ads to outfits who supposedly "help with homework." Again, who are these people and why do they have to ruin everything for everyone?

Takes Deep, Calming Breath

Anyway, good job GVSU! Good job!

Dr. Phil
