Finished two books today.

Octavia Butler, Kindred.
Think of the Time Traveler's Wife, but from the late 70s and much more dangerous. An unflinching look at slavery in the first half on the 19th century.

John Scalzi, The God Engines.
Short for a book. I'd bought a first edition, then never seemed to have the time to read it. Military AD, but with a central fantasy shift.

I want to get better. I want to go home. I want my life back.

But I know it will take time and will.
