A Familiar Looking Game

After a season with a couple of difficult losses, Grand Valley State University managed to win the Battle of the Valleys, by beating in-state rival Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday 16 November 2013. From the Grand Rapids Press:
ALLENDALE, MI – Grand Valley State expects to be going to the NCAA Division II playoffs for the first time since 2010 after beating Saginaw Valley State at its own game Saturday.

The Lakers had seven plays of 20 yards or more, got two big special teams plays and the defense contained the Cardinals high-powered offense for a 49-34 victory in the season finale before 11,888 at Lubbers Stadium.
Sunday the NCAA Division II selection was held, and after holding its breath I'm sure, GVSU made it into the D-II playoffs.

First round is next Saturday, 23 November 2013. GVSU got a #4 seed and gets to play at home in Lubbers Stadium against... drum roll please... Saginaw Valley State University.

You gotta love this.

Should be one helluva game. Go Lakers!
