Just went through the .PDF galleys of my story "Boxes" for the CrossTIME Science Fiction Anthology Volume V. Conversions from word processing to typesetting/desktop publishing are always an adventure. In this case, the Einstein equation, E=mc², lost the superscript-2 and just had an underline character. Now a lot of SF readers wouldn't know the arcane details of just any old Physics formula, but I seem to recall somewhere that the Einstein equation is one of the few equations that the average person around the world can recite -- getting it correct more often than say the equations for the circumference or area of a circle. (grin)
The anthology is now due in August.
