They Didn't Ask Me


Well, moving the side rail has improved things. I can get to the controls. But if I didn't have pillows under my arms, it would feel like there's no side rail next to me. And the bed isn't quite wide enough. But the mattress seems pleasant enough.

Panic at being a beached baby whale, annoyance about change, especially change sprung unannounced, and worry that this would be a horrible night -- didn't make me very happy today.

I understand another patient dealt the same situation was unhappy, too.

And I don't need setbacks.

Hell, I wasn't even able to get a proper nap today. Especially after all the hard work I did in therapy this morning -- three-quarters of the way across the width of the gym in one go... And three times.
